Effective October 1, 2009 the DMV will begin administering a “second” knowledge test to new driver license applicants.

Pursuant to Public Act 2009-187, all 16 and 17 year-old applicants road tested on or after October 1, 2009 will be required to pass a second knowledge test; this test will be known as the “Teen Final Exam”.

The Teen Final Exam will be administered at full service DMV offices after the applicant passes the road test.

The Teen Final Exam:

  • includes 25 questions, 20 must be answered correctly to pass
  • includes questions concerning teen passenger and curfew restrictions
